my wife is using A8 Samsung laptop (di ko na maalala yung model). So far i am able to use it for photoshop editing (Plugins : Photomatix, Alien Skin, Nik Color Effex). And some games like Diablo 3 and Evil Genius though 720p lang ata un.
  • My AMD rig here at work:

    2GB DDR2 dual-channel RAM. 64MB VIA/S3G UniChrome Pro onboard graphics. WinXP!

Just finished editing a couple of hundred pictures using this bada*s rig. Performed just like my i7-4790 rig at home (no, not really, hehe). Pretty usable for light office work. :-)
  • Recently just upgraded a couple of gfx workstations here in our office from an aging Core 2 Duo @ 2.8GHz + 4GB RAM to an FX6300 BE + 8GB RAM. Ramdam ng artists ang difference especially with multitasking and Adobe Illustrator.

I expect the performance of this would be similar to an i5-4xxx in desktop productivity applications primarily Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator (we're a offset/indigo printing press)

Tanong ko lang since nagtataka talaga ako sa last 4 bnew AMD builds ko that use stock HSF. These two FX6300s seem to be running at 45-55c idle at boot. Yung isang A8 richland naman is at 70-80c-ish at yung A4 trinity namin is medyo slow but forgot the temps na rin (light office work). Suspect ko is yung stock thermal paste but I dunno if its worse than the generic gray thermal paste I have here.

Medyo hot for me but pwede kasi baka sanay lang ako sa C2D and personal 2500k rig ko. Yung 965BE C3 (125w) ko nasa 37-70c lang with a Scythe Bug Shuriken and generic gray paste.

Also, I for budget reasons I bought it with a cheap board, I don't think I should overclock with this board? ECS A960M-M3 GL V1.0

  • ^hhmm mukhang hindi ata fair if we compare your old system to new one specially your new system has more RAM. Parang yung iba na nagcocompare na mas bumilis daw from X2 to i5. hehehe But nonetheless, mas maganda pa din yang personal experience talaga rather than puro benchmarks, review sites.

let us know kung may improvement.

Yung isang A8 richland naman is at 70-80c-ish

One of the C2D systems had 4+4 DDR3 (8GB) since siya yung flagship workstation. Sabi nung artist that uses this na the biggest difference daw is sa Adobe Illustrator which is a known CPU eater as opposed to page-heavy Photoshop and InDesign na mas balance sa gitna and next difference is simultaneous creation of imposed PostScript/PDF files which is a bit hard sa CPU.

Yung other unit naman na 4GB lang ang RAM before uses 32bit Windows so the new HyperX 8GB module is really pointless until I get 64bit Windows into it. Sabi naman nung artist that uses this na mas responsive daw InDesign and Photoshop edits niya.
I still think its sulit compared to a similarly-priced i3-4xxx setup.

CnQ is turned on. I'll check C1 state if its enabled but afaik it should be. Yung Athlon II X4s namin dito are running on similar temps and its fine naman since aircon ang office.

Naisip ko nga rin since lalo na na bago pa ang Richland during that time and there were barely any data. The CPU I built with this is not with us anymore though so di ko na na solve.

Napansin ko lang din since some of our stations use VGA/DSUB15 parin. The ones using integrated Radeons nagkakaroon ng fuzzy lines sa LCD when using VGA kahit anong cable gamitin ko compared sa CPUs using onboard Intel or discrete gfx cards. That's the reason yung two Athlons namin dito naka DVI. Unfortunately yung A4 CPU walang DVI and ayaw mag off ng monitor when using an HDMI-DVI adapter so we stuck with a VGA cable and rolled it to minimize the fuzzy lines from interference.

The new FX6300 builds also exhibit this problem. All PSUs are various branded ones except sa A4 APU, sa Atom CPU, and sa isang ITX C2D that uses a generic SFX PSU. We also run on 3-phase electricity if that matters.

Is there something sa onboard radeons and analog VGA that causes it to be more susceptible to interference?

try mo sir reinstall ng driver. try using DDU from guru3d. btw, anong gfx card yung kinabit mo? Radeon din ba or nvidia?

From AM3 to AM3+?

ano magandang cooler for fx 6300? around 1.5k ang budget

Cooler Master Hyper 212X ang the best for your budget kung gusto mo ng tower type cooler.

Also take a look at down firing coolers like Deep Cool Gabriel kasi yung downward airflow will cool the motherboard VRM's :-)
  • CM Hyper T4
    Scythe Katana 4

Scythe Mugen 4 at Deepcool IBP v2 pag kaya sa budget.
  • thanks sa suggestion guys. bought s40 and was able to oc my fx 6300 @ 4.5ghz 1.4vcore @ 61c max temp during stress test. masyado ba mataas ang temp?
  • Guys planning to upgrade my Athlon II to FX 8320 Black edition. Worth it ba in terms of gaming and photo editing?
