aside from Super Pi & Sandra memory bandwidth, what are the best way to test the performance of your memory timings? (wala kse akong makitang significant differences from settings 6-3-3-2.5/7-3-3-2.5/11-3-3-3.2/10-3.3.2.5) 8rda3g/geil 512mb

ok lang ba mag oc nag video card kahit generic na 300w na psu lang ang gamit? im using the omega driver. i step it up by 2 from the standard ng radlinker and ok naman. kaso binalik ko sa stock kasi im worried baka bumigay PSU ko and wala pa ko ram sink. ok lang ba yun?

umbertoeklat: wala po kayong makitang difference kasi kung di ako nagkakamali, you are running a CAS Latency of 2.5 on all those timings.
rigel: yes, ok lang mag-OC kahit generic PSU. what do you mean when u say you step it up by 2? 2 what?

pano ba effective way to arrange your wires & cables inside your rig? aside from using rounded IDE cables.
lalo na yung mga wires from PSU.

hide them underneath the mobo or behind the mobo tray.

@servo thanks.
TRAS lang nga halos tine-test ko ngayon.

kung TRAS lang, walang halos pagkakaiba yun, at the most 50 MB/s.

servo, will try that.

ano best software to use for overclocking?

servo

umbertoeklat: you can use zip ties.
darkstalker: you dont use software to overclock the CPU. you do it in the BIOS.

oh . . . i thought ive read something about an overclocking software like err . .. GenClock?
<click here for link>
hehe . . . i dont know how to OC kasi e but I want to try it. So i thot id look for an OC software first. Yun kasi nakita ko.

@darkstalker:
before you go about OCing, you first have to understand exactly what happens inside your computer...
i suggest that before you try it, at least have enough theoretical info... baka kasi mauwi ka sa sunog na hardware... ü

im trying to read the other posts on OCing.
From what Ive read so far, I think a need a mobo upgrade. ECS L7VMM2+ ang mobo ko hehe. Mumurahin. Very limited ang bios options for OC purposes.

yung core and memory settings nya. 411.75/263.25. kaso nung hinawakan ko yung isang side (yung walang sink) medyo mainit sya than normal. bili pa lang ako ng ram sink eh baka bukas.

@Darkstalker
If you are not into extreme overclocking, you will probably find that it will still yield you a significant increase in performance at little or no additional cost.
You get pretty good yields at default vcore. For example, in my case I get an additional 566MHz from default without adjusting vcore. After that I get an additional 100MHz for every 0.1v vcore. Adding 500MHz adds maybe 0.5C. Adding 0.1v vcore adds abut 2C or so.
What kind of chip do you have?

which is a better setting? 11-3-3-2 200x11 or 11-3-3-2.5 220x10 both giving me 2.2 ghz.

Hmm..
I have:
ECS N2U400-A Nforce 2 motherboard
AXP 2500+ Barton
2x256 Star Ram Generic DDR 333
Volcano 9 HSF
I know my barton\'s locked...
what values of the FSB and Memory Timings will i have to set my system to get a decent but stable overclock? Any other settings?
Thanks!Ü

patulong naman guys. need your advises para sa pagbili ko ng new proc. 3.0C ba o 3.4E.

KarNale: I like tighter timings better pre.
k9fnx: run the FSB to 200 MHz, set vcore to 1.7 vcore. Unfortunalty, I dont think your RAM can run at DDR400. Yan yun weak link mo sa set-up mo.
reymunl: depends on what you want bro. do you want to overclock or not? if you want to, then get the 3.0C. if you dont want to, get the 3.4E.
1. for all intents and purposes, yes. maliit lang na OC yan. its just a small increase in FSB.
2. 3.4C is Northwood, 800 MHz, 512 kb L2 cache. 3.4E is a Prescott, 800 MHz, 1MB L2 cache.

FSB ang difference, allowing for a greater maximum bandwidth sa CPU

slightly faster yun OCed 3.0C kasi mas mataas FSB nya.

ok. thanks guys.
