NVIDIA Maxwell: GeForce 700 series/900 series

  • rip gtx 970
  • share ko lng gpu ko EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Superclocked ACX 2.0

2 years old na but still going strong nabili ko ito march 8, 2016

  • Yeah, GTX 980 is still a good GPU for gaming in 2018. You can even use it for ultrawide (2560 x 1080) monitors with 144-Hz refresh rate if you are willing to tweak image quality settings.

Can you share your heaven/Valley scores?
  • ^ Actually hindi naman sidegrade kung 1060 6GB yung sa iyo as it is better by anywhere from 5% to 20% depending on the game and settings. Plus mas tahimik yung fan and lower pa power consumption (~35W).
  • ^di ba GTX 980 = GTX 1060?
  • ^ somewhere sa middle ng 1070 at 1060.

ang 970 halos same performance with 1060, at 980ti to 1070.

    balik aircooling + lipat bahay

    - more VRAM
    - better performance in games using Vulkan
    - performs very well with Mesa (open source GPU driver)

Here are the cross-platform PC games that use Vulkan:

    Ballistic Overkill
    DOTA 2
    Dawn of War III
    F1 2017
    Mad Max
    Rise of the Tomb Raider
    Serious Sam 3: BFE
    The Talos Principle

  • hello mga kuys is it worth to sell my 1060 6gb and replace it with 980ti ?

meron kasi steal na 5k from my frend Strix 980ti never oC'ed and rarely used should i get it? or stick po sa 1060 6gb?

  • @bapi

Tingin ko hindi worth it to sell your GTX 1060 and upgrade to GTX 980 Ti.

  • @ bapi

  • @bapi
If I were in your shoes, I would buy that 5K php Strix 980 Ti and resell it with profit.
  • ^kaya siguro binebenta kasi di supported ang 9 series dun sa GSync capable Freesync monitors.
  • May official statement na ba Nvidia about that?

Surprisingly walang "official statement" si Nvidia saying it will only be supported on Pascal GPU's or later. But may isang Nvidia customer care representative sa NVIDIA's GeForce forums mentioning they do not have plans to add support for Maxwell and below.

Tingin ko this might have something to do with the DisplayPort 1.2a specification. But who knows maybe G-Sync compatible support may be added later to Maxwell in a future driver.
  • ^sad, so now I'm stuck in looking for the more expensive g-sync monitors

My GTX 980 Ti still good!

  • @BCFreeman

980 ti still performs well. but don't forget, compared to the 1660 ti. the 980 ti draws an extra 100 watts, almost 50% more while gaming.

  • Hello! Ano FPS niyo sa Far Cry 5 / New Dawn using GTX 970? Salamat TipidPC
  • Condolences sir... GTX 970 was a great videocard

yung zotac ko buhay na buhay padin 5 years old na mag 6 years old na this coming october 30 fans palang ang pinapalitan ko sana wag muna bumigay wala pako pampalit haha
  • Ah yes, madalas nauuna bumigay mga fans kesa gpu lalo na pag naka 100% fan speed (custom)
