AMD Vishera Club (800 pixels max, 2 pics per post only)

  • I've already got the board replaced with a higher revision. I got a week to use it, but it did not happen until yesterday and the screen went blank and it does not allow me to shut down.

The worse part is, the issue is very clean. I didn't notice any abnormal power fluctuations before 'it' happened and happens when the system is under load. It does not damage the processor or any other parts of the system.

What do you think could be the culprit of the Motherboard failing? Video card (Galax GTX 970 Exoc Black)? water cooler (Corsair H80i unlikely), or the HDD drives? (Unlikely), or probably the LED lights?

RAMs, have you checked? Try running Memtest86+ for atleast 3 to 6 hrs, or wPrime with 1024M. You can use Prime95 to test not only your RAMs but also your CPU.

RAMs can damage a motherboard? Looks farfetched, but at this point, I'd do anything to get the issue fixed. I've went to the Helix office in Pasig. They said it's the first time they received an issue like this.
  • Hi mga sirs, pa-join, meron pa po ba user ng FX 4300? I just switched to AMD this year only.

As I am on a tight budget, I was able to build just the ff. Planning to upgrade soon.

    My old Powerlogic Casing.

Basa basa lang muna ako for reference on my future upgrade, and on the overclocking thing..

If I am in big trouble please advise salamat ng marami po,
  • Just received the parts yesterday and looks like the processor's the culprit. They made a quick fix on the board (reflashing the BIOS). Since the FX8350's phased out, they gave me an FX8370E. This would be my second replacement as the first one cooked itself. Notice the 'evolution' of the FX boxes and they're getting smaller. Can't shake the feeling that this procie was made 2011, which may mean that it is a bumped up FX8350.

I'm currently waiting for the Seasonic to be shipped back to me. Going to Pasig to find the Helix office was a nightmare, but at least they offer free shipping. I still have my old Cougar PSU and they tested it OK, so I guess I'll be using this for a month before switching back to the Seasonic
  • @ydnarazevrec

Based on my experience, your temps for the processor should not be going above 63C on extended periods of time. Proper thermal paste application is very important as when I first bought the Corsair H80i, my temps were reaching around 65C and this isn't a safe temp for the processor. Let Linus explain on how to apply the thermal compound correctly.

  • You might as well take into account where the core of the CPU is located for the most optimal position to apply thermal paste
