  • Speaking of protein sources. Can we list the common protein sources and their rank in terms of cost per gram of protein? For example I know that protein supplement is cheaper than canned tuna peso/g. So ranking the two, cheapest at top...

    May objective sana is medyo lumaki braso ko and chest pati abs na rin.
    Madalas lang ako mag jog push ups and situps. Pwede na ba yun?

    Parang nagtitimpla ka lang ng Milo (kung choco flavor). Ako hinahaloko lang sa tubig. I don't know kung flavorless yung PM7 haven't tried it yet.

    You need to use your muscles kasi to build them. Ako every other day military press, concentration curls and yung may rope na pang triceps, 5 weeks lumaki na at may shape braso ko and shoulders. Whey 1 hour after workout. Pero payat kasi ako to begin with kaya 5 minutes cardio lang ako, bike.

  • hello, question.. saan mas pinaka best "bang for your buck" na gym in metro manila given the following categories:

    - Equipment
    - Monthly rates / Annual rates / Life time rates
    - Customer Service
    - (other considerations I have not mentioned here)

    Basically I'm doing the workouts listed here <click here for link> for more than 2 months na. And I want to progress pero sa bahay lang kasi ako for now, and I'm planning to get a gym membership na rin in the near future

    the considerations I would gravitate looking at the program you want to follow according to priority are 1) close to home and/or close to work or school 2)squat rack, 3) round plates for deadlift 4) space for deadlifts. Everything else is low priority. This program by the way is a spin off of starting strength.

    Nung first month, I "clean and press" the weights from the floor to do my squats. Now as it gets heavier, I use two low wooden tables as a make shift "rack", pero as it gets heavier na hindi na sya pwede, I have to squat really low to get the weights off the make shift racks and the squat really low again to rack it back.

    For deadlifts I have 2x35 lbs hex plates + a collection of 60 lbs rubber plates pero may kalang yung bar (kumbaga naka angat yung hex plate from the floor ng konting konti para lang hindi sya gugulong away/towards my shins).

    I will post pictures regarding my set-up para mas ma gets nyo yung itsura nya :-).

    Pero yun nga as I progress in weights, hindi na pwede ang makeshift makeshift lang thats why I'm looking for a nice gym.

    Ano ibig sabihin pag bumaba ang body weight nyo pero tumaas ang body fats?
    Does it mean im losing my muscle mass? Ano kaya cause? How do I prevent this to happen again?

  • Hi Guys, question lang po. I started SS 5x5 nung Feb 10, 2014. I'm 5'7" my weight was 210lbs, my starting numbers are;

    Squats - 90 lbs
    OHPress - 40 lbs
    Bench - 70 lbs
    DL - 160 lbs
    Row - 70 lbs

    As of now I'm 195 lbs, lost 2 inches sa waist line. my current numbers are.

    Squats - 195 lbs
    OHPress - 70 lbs (Hirap ako dito)
    Bench - 115 lbs
    DL - 250 lbs
    Row - 115 lbs

    Routines:

    Set A - Squat 5x5, OHP 5x5, DL 1x5
    Set B - Squat 5x5, Bench 5x5, Row 5x5

    Ang problem ko 2 times nalang ako nakakapag gym dahil wala kameng yaya dati 3 times a week. Kulang sa oras dahil may work ako from 4pm - 1am mon to fri. Do I need to modify my routine kase wasted ako palage after ko mag gym e haha. Can I change my routine to 3x5?

    Tama ka since muscle is heavier than fats. Maaring bumaba timbang mo kahit nag gain ka ng fats pero nawalan ka kasi ng muscle. Paano maiiwasan? Don't stop training.

  • @roceanoz and @jomski - salamat mga paps. i've been working out for 6 mos. last 2 months is strictly ko nasusunod sched ko (4visits to the gym every week). Then i monitor my weight and body fat % pre and post wprkout. Kahapon ko lang sya na encounter. Most of the time is bumababa ang body fat%, and decrase/same lang ang weight. Kaya i was worried kung me mali ba ako ginagawa (hard cardio + weightlifting), or diet, or etc.

    Regarding supplements, i only take them pre, intra, and post workout. pag rest days, walang supplement. Im scared na baka maging dependent ang katawan ko sa supplements, and budget issues na rin.
