Cignal HD or SkyCable HD?

  • New subscriber here.I\'ve searched the net but I did not get any direct comparisons.What do you think is more value for money?Which offers the better channels and has better quality of service?

    I\'m interested mostly on NBA Premium and sports, for 2-3 TVs in the house.

  • paano ba malalaman na tunay na HD ang content nila? mostly rendered upscale lang ang nakikita ko. sa original bluray disc at legit HD content sa internet ang nakita ko palang na tunay na HD.

  • up ko lang! nag avail ako ng cignal with some HD channels. best yung nba prem. starworld hd and outdoor hd nila ung hbo hd parang nakukulangan ako sa picture quality. sa 2yrs kung gumamit ng service nila madalas kapag malakas ang ulan at makapal ang ulap totally mawawalan ka ng signal. pero babalik din in few minutes.

    eoc ko na so planning to try skycable with HD, any inputs? thanks
  • Bad trip na ko sa sky, 1month na kami wala service. Pag-on ng digibox ang nakailaw lang yung sa \"lock\" dapat yung sa \"standby\" ang meron. Check ko na mga cable wala pa rin. Hirap din kumontak sa service center nila. May naka-usap ako parang di naman alam yung sinasabi, hanapin ko raw yung \"green\" light? Huh? Eh mula nung kinabit sa amin yung digibox na yun wala akong nakitang green light. Naka-10 txt message na rin ako wala pa rin update. P!@#$%^&*.
  • I'm a very new Cignal subscriber and here are my experiences by far:


    Processing is very slow :

    After submitting my requirements and waited couple of days, I had to make consistent follow ups for them to respond to my application. Till finaly they responded, they said i wait within 48 hours for a return call of the schedule. No return call made, and I had to make another follow up where they committed another 48 hours again. After it lapsed again,No response again. I had to make another follow up until finally we got a call a day after for the schedule, and the installers wanted it within that hour, and they will not be available the next day. I had to tell my wife to go back from her christmas shopping so we can have standby for our house.

    The installers will surprise with an extra charge of P500 :

    Cignal cust care told us there is a minimum charge of P1k in our location. Although ,I read in brochure, it could go high if we are in remote location or there are additional materials installed. However we are located at center of Manila area, yet, we were still charged by the installers P1,500 for the installation fee, and there were no additional materials. In fact, ang laki pa ng sobra nung cables nila, dahil maiksi lang yung nagamit sa min. Right now, I'm hoping a rebate on that extra charges. Goodluck to me!


    Poor customer service - Cignal cust Care is not your single point of contact, They will throw you with their installers office with very poor customer service.

    If you are having issues related to the installation or installation charges, cignal cust care will refer you to the installer's office. I did call the Installers office , I think it was MegaCellular, and they disclaimed it was not theirs. Parang nasabihan pa ko, na dapat sa kanila ko nagpainstall bago ko magcomplain sa kanila, Medyo nagpanting ang tenga ko, kasi wala naman ako malay sa process ng cignal. I just submitted the requirements and we just waited for it to install. Anyway, i check the receipt, and our installers is SatCable. After calling them, ibinato lang din ako sa Cignal. So I called Cignal at ibinabato lang din ulit ako sa SatCable. Infinite loop! Ayos diba??


    Very slow installation/activation.
    Dont dare be excited while during the installation is already completed, because you have to wait another 24 hours for the activation daw. I learned that,the installers still need to forward all the documents daw to the Cignal's office, then they'll review it, before activating it. With the many new communication technology today. Bakit hindi kayang itawag lang yun, confirm and activate that moment? Do they have to just review the documents just now when I submitted it weeks ago!


    Right now, I just made another follow up for the activation, and i'm still waiting, hoping finally this dillema will end. And one of my major concern right now is, nasa application stages pa lang ako eh pahirapan na nangyari, may maasahan kaya akong maayos sa after sales support???
  • Finally, nainstall na din. As im using it, I'm very satisfied by far sa quality ng video especially with the HD Channels. The UI navigation is very good. The technology is very good. I just hope the service and customer support will improve as well.
  • Sakin naman nagpa.install ako ng SKY Cable Dual Def 499. Ok naman ang installation, 1 day process lang, habang nagfill-up ako ng application form kinakabit na ang linya sa installer at activate na kaagad pagkatapos nilang tawagan ang office. 1 company ID at installation fee 2k. Sa plan na kinuha ko may 6 HD channels na at 50+ SD channels. So far reliable naman ang signal kahit na umuulan, paborito ko ang HD channels it\'s like watching Bluray videos. What i like is free ang HD box unlike sa Cignal na merong kang babayaran na monthly box maintenance fee 100-150 depende sa plan mo. Ibig sabihin kung ang plan mo 590 + 150 = 740 na ang monthly bill mo.

    Sa Cignal naman i think much better ang signal nila sa mga SD channels compared sa SKY, siguro dahil satellite at digital talaga unlike sa SKY na analog converted to digital platform. Kung tatanggalin ng Cignal ang monthly box maintenance fee yun siguro baka lumipat ako....
  • Baka naman me naka 430 na prepaid Cignal dito using at least 42\" LCD tv?.. Gusto ko lang kasi malaman kung maganda pa rin ang resolution hindi pixalated ang lahat ng channels(free-2-air at cable subscription), SD(Standard Def) lang kasi yung prepaid na 430 eh. Appreciate your inputs.

    may naka try na po ba i-split ung HDMI display ng decoder ng cignal sa 2 HDTV? if meron, pa specify naman po kung ano yung ginamit nyo...

    mas angat ba ang SD channels sa Cignal kung HD(STB) and subscription mo coz of the HDMI cable? TIA ...

  • New Cignal subscriber here. May mga questions lang ako, sana may sumagot na subscriber or nakakaalam dito.

    1. Kailangan ba naka open talaga yung HD Box habang hinihintay ang activation? Di ba pwede kahit sa standby mode lang (sayang kasi kuryente, 3 days ng nag aabang wala pa din as of now)

    2. Kung sakali bang activated na, ini off nyo ba yung HD box pag hindi nanonood?

    3. Gaano ba talaga katagal ang activation?

    -No need to power it on. Yung sa akin standby mode lang.

    2. Kung sakali bang activated na, ini off nyo ba yung HD box pag hindi nanonood?
    -Usually standby mode lang, pero pag nag out of town or wala tao sa bahay for few days unplug ko talaga.

    3. Gaano ba talaga katagal ang activation?
    -In my experience last year within 24 hours.
    Malalaman mo na activated na if sakto na yung time ng box.
  • bases on my experience, i recommend SKY Cable, mas marami silang HD channels compared sa Cignal at mas maganda ang resolution sa HD channels, i have Sky Cable Dual Def plan 549 at satisfied naman.. activation within minutes lang same day sa installation
  • Yes matagal activation sa Cignal TV.
  • Feedback ng tropa na dating Sky, ngayon Cignal:
    * Cignal - Mas maganda PQ ng NBA Premium
    * Cignal - May PBA HD
  • I'm planning to move from sky to cignal dahil naka home dsl din naman ako at naka partner sila dalawa. From cheapest sky 299 to cignal 200. Pero wala yata abs cbn HD sa cignal?

    nakapagswitch ka na to cignal? mas malinaw ba? parang gusto ko na rin lumipat eh
  • ask ko lang. kasi papa-cut ko na sana yung 2nd box ko. plan 490 kami. mabebenta pa ba yung box at remote? wala pang 1 month na nagamit after mainstall.
  • more than 20yrs na kami subscriber ng sky cable.. worth it ba to switch to cignal HD (plan830) or mag skycable HD (plan999)? habol ko lang na channels is:

    HBO, Foxmovies, Asian food channel, TLC, History, discovery, Nat geo, local channels/news, Internatinal news.

    ano ba mas malinaw na HD sa 2 na plan? nakapanood na ako ng Cignal HD malinaw sya.. pero di pa ako nakapanood ng sky HD

  • Mas prefer ko mag digital tv box na lang instead of cable, pwede mo naman mapanuod almost lahat yan through internet streaming lalo na kapag mas bumilis na internet speed natin tsaka kapag mas nauso na ang mga streaming services like netflix etc..
