Hi guys. Just bought yung LG Monitor Ergo 27inches for WFH purposes. Kaso after 1 month nasira yung USB C port niya sa likod. Di na siya nakakacharge ng devices or nakakabasa ng inputs. All other ports working naman.
Pwede pa kaya ma repair yung USB C port? I'd rather use that vs HDMI.
I'm still working on the warranty details pero parang ayaw i-honor ni LG since mali daw pagpasok ko ng USB C. Apparently you can insert it wrong (idk how)
So just in case, I'm looking for other options para di na tumagal.

toinks, panalo yung technician na nag diagnose a :D
Paturo tayo sa kanya kung pano gawin yun, baka maging viral, ahaha.
Pero kung ayaw talaga nila i honor and you feel that it's within warranty terms, I suggest getting in touch with DTI.
Yea I'm thinking of getting in touch with DTI but I'm not sure if it's worth the hassle. If repair would just take a day from a reputable shop I'd prolly go with that. Hassle ng walang extra monitor for my line of work.
Kaso from the picture that the technician showed me, I think the USB C component ng board broke off. So not sure if that can be repaired without replacing the board.
From the looks of it, the connector got torn off by a lateral force. If the enclosure was properly designed (there should be sturdy plastic supports around the USB-C port to prevent in from moving) and manufactured (quality control issues) this shouldn't happen. That said, this validates my concerns regarding the robustness of the USB-C connector.
I can't see the full extent of damage. If thhe solder pads on the circuit board are intact, it should be fixable. If they aren't, the repair will be much more difficult, if not impossible (without hacks).
Exactly! I don't get how I could have possibly broken it without actually opening the monitor. Mukhang sturdy naman yung ports niya. I tried wriggling the USB C during troubleshooting at di naman siya nag momove.
Worse case scenario, I'm just gonna use the HDMI and charge my laptop with a separate USB C. 1st world problems I guess.
Issues are busted backlight and possible board issue kaya minsan ayaw mag on ang screen kahit may power. Per, kapag ginagalaw yung joystick sa likod, bubukas saglit. Initial diagnosis, palitin board. Pag nag palit ng board, kasama na din ba dun ang backlight? For this model and possible cost, worth it pa ba ipaayos?
