  Afaik there's no way to know it unless buksan. But don't na lang din baka magkamali ka sige di ka makalaro ng musical games mo :). Pero if the seller to whom you bought it got the item sa manila very likely wiikey yung modchip mo at soldered siya hindi clip type. Kasi mostly sa search ko regarding hardmodding ng wii nung rare pa softmods sa pinas eh panay wiikey chips ang gamit. Wala kasi akong nakikitang before na nagbebenta dito locally ng drivekey or wasabi only wiikey ang visible. Pero, it doesn't matter kasi nowadays halos lahat ng malaro ng hardmodded natatapatan ng softmodded. So talagang they do complement each other. I think you know also na pag softmodded kailangan up to date ka sa mga IOS which is easy to do also di ba as long as panay din ang basa. In fact yung NSMB napagana 1st ng mga softmodders.

  Pag mag hdd ka just use the WD My Passport Essential andar agad. May hdd compat chart din nakalimutan ko lang pero kung saan. I think you can find it sa link.
  
  If I were you get or do a softmod on wii as a start bago ka maghardmod. Just take note about the risk in doing the procedures of softmodding to avoid bricking you wii.

  yan ang mga serial na may restriction sa hardmodding. kaya halos lahat softmod tapos nilabas pa ni ninty yung 4.2 anti hackers FW. (pero na-hack pa din.lol)

  pareho pala tayo na 2nd hand lang na Wii US ang nabili. kahit ako hindi ko alam yung modchip na naka-install. LOL

  my question is "can i go online using my wii without bricking it?"
  
  how? or is there anything i need to install first?

  san mo nakuha yang source na yan mang? baka kasi magpabili ako sa ate ng gf ko states ng wii eh para masabi ko sa kanya na beware sa mga ganyang serials. Pano ba yung numbering niyan? like LU64 next is LU65 next is LU66? so yung lower than LU64 lang ang pwede ma modchip?

  Western Digital Harddisk ba ibig mo sabihin bro ang ok sa nintendo wii? Medyo new ako sa term na passport essential eh, para san ba ginagamit yun? sa harddisk ng wii? paano?
  
  and if just in case wala nako makita nag benta ng wii na walang mod restricion at yung may mod restriction nalang ang available, softmod restricted din ba sila or hindi?

  if you mean going online sa games nope it should not brick your wii.

  first you need to establish an internet connection, just go to your wii settings to set it up.
  after, update your wii shop channel (you can do this without updating your firmware, google it or back read na lang).
  
  Since korean yung wii mo, don't use the official N updates ok.

  medyo mahirap pag di mo alam modchip mo, sa iba I've read na pwede iupgrade yung fw ng modchip. Which di ko magawa since I have no idea what kind or type it is. Tsk.
