WIFI Antenna

  • ^

    - ang plan is to setup the tower from the house which is 150 to 200m away from the shop, ang advantage nito is wala ng mga harang, cons is dagdag gastos kasi i think gagamit ng nanostation loco m2

  • was wondering if i can use cignal satellite dish as my antenna for pocket wifi e5372?
  • anybody could help me out here?

You can by all means, the question is, will it work?

No one is stopping you to do that.

Now, my take on that endeavor (I tried back then), it does not really work.

The Cignal Dish is designed for a 10Ghz radio. If you take it's radio element, you can see the markings.

If your only purpose is to look cool/techy, go ahead. Practically, however, it does not help.

Five years ago, me and friends tried this. There was no improvement with the signal regardless of the way we mount the dish+hspa kit.

What worked is a 1.8-2.3Ghz yagi antenna.

I will take it a step simpler. Instead of using those radios, why not just put the tower in the premises of the shop, make a box with your LTE modem/router, put it on a level where it can get signal and just run a utp cable to the shop?

I think 40 feet will suffice and the telcos also have their panel antennas for LTE. Saves you some cash.

  • thanks for this. just want to know since our cignal is no use to us sa bahay. yung previous owner nang cignal satellite dish iniwan sa roof.

what i did is sa shop na nga lang pinapa set-up yung tower, 40 to 50feet from the ground siguro and style ROHN tower.

    for clarification lang po:
    - LTE with mimo 18dbi parabolic antenna connected to pc w/ pfsense
    - rocket m2 w/ omni 2g10 connected to same pc as AP (different subnet)

bale nakaless ng 2pcs nanoloco m2
    salamat po
  • @boyett
Just curious, why use two bullets? With their proximity, wala bang issues with noise?
  • @mitsugi
hindi ko na pinoproblema ang noise issue...
    Why use two bullets..

    Wireless connection:

  • hi boyett,

tagal kang nawala sa thread na ito ahh. good thing your back so you can share na din yung mga interested sa pag DIY ng WiFi receiver nila.

Is it because wala kang facility to manage:
    1.) Bandwidth Management
    2.)Traffic Shaping
3.)Fine Tuning ng Rate Flapping sa Ubnt Bullet 2HP
    4.)Kicking clients with low signal

magkaiba or parehas sila ng Frequency / Channel?

thanks for this. just want to know since our cignal is no use to us sa bahay. yung previous owner nang cignal satellite dish iniwan sa roof.

    yung ginawa ni boyett na:

PASSIVE REFLECTOR lang ang ginawa niya, kase metal reflects Radio Signal kahit aluminum foil.

but I don't recommend it, dispose mo nalang yan sa magbobote at bumili ka ng

anyway hanggang dun nalang tayo at OFF TOPIC yung tanong mo sinagot naman namin, this is a WiFi Antenna thread pwede mo itanong yun sa SMART LTE Thread or Globe LTE Thread pano palakasin yang nasasagap mo na LTE signal sa bahay mo.

Is it because wala kang facility to manage:

magkaiba or parehas sila ng Frequency / Channel?

Magkakaiba sila ng channel... 7 at 11

Advice sa mga nag-DIY... Enjoy nyo lang yan Bro!

The right way to do this is to mount the pocket wifi at the feedpoint/focal point of the dish. How to do it? It's your turn to think.
