Anyone here using this? Iba to sa WD Black dual drive, sobrang mahal nun.
Syempre mas ok ang SSD and HD setup pero ito kasing SSHD optimized lahat ng commonly used apps according to reviews.
BTW Mas mahal lang to ng konti sa regular WD Black when I last checked.
Techreport.com feedback:
The caching scheme works, too. It cut our system\'s boot time nearly in half, putting the hybrid barely behind the latest SSDs. Adaptive Memory also reduced the Desktop SSHD\'s game load times, and it delivered quicker access times in our real-world DriveBench simulation.

just got mine. wala akong maFeel n difference.

AFAIK it takes time for it to be optimized. Tatandaan nya kasi yung pattern of usage mo. Well for me, I already got a dedicated SSD. Easily 7.9 sa Windows rating. Baka mas mataas pa dapat kaso 7.9 lang max with that benchmark.

ahh.. so the more I use my computer the more magiimprove ung rating. planning to get an SSD n din. kaso buy muna ako monitor.

baka maliit RAM mo sir. Ilang Gb ba RAM mo?

I am using the Seagate 1 TB of SSHD. I've got 5 seconds startup and 5 seconds of shutdown but the windows rating is still a 5.9. I dunno why? Although I have 4 cores only with 16 GB (2400 Mhz) Dual channel.

^ Classified kasi as ordinary HDD ang SSHD pag dating kay Windows. So 5.9 pa rin. In the case of Lord_chris na may 7.9 rating ginamit nya kasi SSD as boot drive or a primary drive kaya yun ang binenchmark ni windows, hindi yung SSHD nya as secondary drive.

is having a SSD (primary) and SSHD (secondary) better than SSD and HDD in a CPU setup?
i'm planning to build my own rig, and wondering which is better.
thanks

currently have an ssd + sshd set up
os and new games sa SSD older games and data storage sa sshd
if find it better than the old ssd + hdd faster loading of the older games
but i can't really compare it accurately
as before i had a windows 8.1 sa ssd + hdd
now its clean install windows 10 sa ssd + sshd

@goodtj
thanks for the reply. i'll go with the ssd + sshd setup then, if there are stocks.

Linus explain how hybrid works. To make this simple if I can remember correctly.
- The first time you read the files (running OS, apps or opening docs, videos etc), the device will create a buffer/copy to the ssd space, but you will experience normal speed as HDD.
- The next time you read the files, the device will use the copy inside the SSD so it will be instantaneous as SSD.
Ex. the first time you run games the speed will be HDD, but you run it multiple times the performance should par to SSD. Of course depends on the size of your game.
NOTE: Of course there are other exception to these performance analysis I mentioned. Like if you read different files more than the SSD size each, the buffer will constantly overwritten so the speed will become HDD and others I didn't mentioned.

Hybrid will never be as good as raw SSD disk since you only get very small SSD size in it but it will definitely gives you boosts from time to time.
Now I mentioned it I guess Hybrids will lessen the HDD's mechanical usage so we may expect longer life than HDDs.
Imagine if they release 32-64gb SSD in Hybrids, that would be awesome -- OS, apps and games you use often will be cached to the SSD.

at sabay ko upgrade to 8gb ram...result: hanggang ngayon 7 seconds pa rin ang boot-up time...iisipin mo pa lng yung gagawin mo after
... sulit at ramdam mo yung upgrade from hdd to SSHD
storage - ok
(HYBRID NGA!)

32-64gb nand flash memory or ssd inside spindle drive sshd??? that would be very awesome dude, but i doubt that they would dare to manufacture that soon although its possible... because of marketing and profit issues...
as of now... i see that product coming cguro mga year 2018-19 pa... depends on the innovation and need for it...(that is for the windows users ah)
but on the apple side...2013 pa lng...they already have the fastest benchmarked out of the box machine that is literally "speed of light" processing...
i had the chance to do my project on the MAC PRO (black cylinder CPU)
..... result: 400% increased productivity in less than an hour...
20minutes na video tvc..... ingest time +convert+layout+cut+render+upload sa dropbox ng client.. in less than an hour...(thats just for preview purposes lng ah) raw pa lahat syempre...
bottomline on sshd performance and reliability... 5/5 stars (swak pa sa budget)

I'll rephrase, "hindi talaga bababa ang price ng SSD as low as HDD..."
I remember I bought my M4 128gb @ P4.8k you could buy 256GB with that price.
kaya nga maganda ang naisip ng SEAGATE eh... naisip nilang lagyan ng on board NAND FLASH memory yung spindle drive para mas mabilis nga naman read and write ng data... (HYBRID NGA!)

Very first boot of your OS? depends on your system I'm guessing you will still experience HDD speed. You must let your Hybrid know that your OS need to speed up by using it often, by then you will experience SSD speed.
