    Testing Method

Performance will be measured using the built-in benchmark tool of these games

    Metro: Last Light
    Sleeping Dogs
    Hitman: Absolution

All the games are updated to the latest version as of April 20, 2014. Benchmarks were run in DX11 mode

The game settings used are playable even in actual gaming.

Built-in benchmark tool was used for the reason of repeatability. Another benefit is our fellow Tipid PC members will be able to replicate my benchmarks for comparison with their own system

Benchmark Result - Radeon HD 7660D vs GeForce GTX 750 Ti

The game settings used are the ones which are playable using HD 7660D. The reason for this is to give A10-5800K users an idea how much performance increase they will be getting if they upgrade to GTX 750 Ti.

Radeon HD 7660D was running at 950 MHz and shared memory is 1GB

    Metro: Last Light

    resolution: 1280 x 720
    quality preset: medium
    texture filtering: AF 4x
    tessellation: off
    motion blur: low
    SSAA: off
    PhysX: off

    Sleeping Dogs

    resolution: 1920 x 1080
    enable quality anti-aliasing: normal
    enable high-res textures: on
    shadow resolution: normal
    shadow filtering: normal
    SSAO: normal
    motion blur: off
    world density: high
    FPS limiter: off

In Metro: Last Light, total system power draw is 155 watts when using the HD 7660D. With GTX 750 Ti, it increased to 180 watts. That is a 16% increase in power draw for a 75% increase in performance.

Benchmark Result - Effect of Number of CPU cores on GTX 750 Ti

There are 2 reasons for doing this test. First, to give users of dual-core AMD FM2 APU\'s an idea how much performance increase they will be getting if they upgrade to GTX 750 Ti. Second, to show that even mid-range GPU\'s are affected by the number of CPU cores.

The game settings used will be the highest playable settings on 4 CPU cores + GTX 750 Ti

The 2 CPU cores of A10-5800K was disabled thru Windows 7 operating system <click here for link>

    Metro: Last Light

Set the video quality to 480p or 720p to see the details more clearly

    Pricing

At the time of review, Palit GTX 750 Ti StormX Dual can be had for as low as P 8,100.

UPDATE: As of May 07, 2014, it now sells for as low as P 7,500 only which makes it more competitive against the Radeon R7 260X

    Should you buy it ?

    YES if:
    - you just want a mid-range GPU that draws power only from the PCI-E slot or if you have an old low-capacity PSU
    - you cannot afford a Radeon R9 270X but need something faster than Radeon R7 260X
    - you play games for 8 hours or more a day, every day
    - you want a high factory overclock (GPU and memory) for GTX 750 Ti

    NO if:
    - you can afford a Radeon R9 270X

  • nice, am planning to get one too...

but i\'m considering the non-dual storm oc version w/c is almost p1k cheaper!

am currently using a 650ti oc and it would definitely be a step up in performance plus all the advantages of the newer maxwell architecture!

  • Thanks for the review... I\'m also looking for a card to replace my GTX 650 Ti.
  • i recently bought a palit gtx 750 ti and cdr king mini hdmi adapter for my itx build. kaso problem is hindi nadedetect yung hdmi connection. pero when i used the vga cable, nadedetect naman ng mga lcd tv namin yung pc. also tried the mini hdmi adapter to 3 hdmi cables. kaso wala pa din. ano kaya may probs? yung mini hdmi adapter or yung mini hdmi port ng video card?

any others who experienced this issue?
  • ^
Just when back to CDRK*ng yesterday to have the mini HDMI adapter replace, when it was tested by the technician the adapter works when they tried connecting it to their android tablet and lcd monitor.

So I decided to purchase a mini hdmi to hdmi cable, tested also again using their android tablet and lcd monitor.

When I got back home I tried the newly purchased mini hdmi to hdmi cable.

The PC is still not detected by my lcd tv. :(

Is this an issue with the vPalit GTX 750 TI? Planning on returning the video card to the shop and have it checked it and replaced. :(
  • Thanks sa review @benchmarks_of_truth, by the way paano nakahook up yung Palit 750 Ti mo? HDMI, VGA, DVI?

@on_arb, na-isolate mo na ba kung Video Card or mini HDMI yung problema? Plan ko din kasi bumili nito to connect to my LED TV.

    VGA
  • Very Nice Review Pafs. This video card is indeed on the sweet spot. Isa kang asset ng TPC bro. Keep Up The Good Work.
  • @benchmarks_of_truth

Sir have you tried using the MINI HDMI connection? Tried with my unit 2 MINI HDMI to HDMI cables and also tried with 2 LCD TVs but HDMI was not being detected.

However VGA connection was detected. Have you also encountered this issue?

    Thanks, bro

Yeah, it\'s a great card. There\'s even a review site which said that this is what the reference GTX 750 Ti should have been

Sorry, I don\'t have an HDTV or an LCD monitor with mini HDMI port
  • Nice review BOT. Maganda daw pang mining yan ah. Mababa sa kuryente compared sa ibang ka-level ng hash niya.
  • @on_arb
I just got this Video Card, mine is working thru mini HDMI hooked up to a LED TV.

  • Ask ko lng mga boss. Perfect combo ba tong gpu na to sa i3-4130 @3.4 ghz? Or mag bottleneck sya?
  • ^ i was going to ask the same question too...i am currently using an i3 4130 and a gtx560

    1. will there be any bottle neck on i3 4130 + 750ti?

    2. will changing to 750ti improve the gaming performance on my rig or will it have the same performance with my gtx 560?
  • @jbagsic

    1. no. actually a perfect combo :)

    2. gtx750ti is on-par with gtx 560ti/hd7850/gtx650ti-boost. so its faster.
