Linksys EA6500 vs Asus RT AC66U

  • I'm planning to buy a new wireless router because my WRT54G wireless router is running @ 2.4ghz. I have interference with other device such as 2.4ghz wireless mouse, 2.4ghz non DECT wireless telephone. .

so I'm thinking by using dual band router 2.4 & 5ghz simultaneously I can avoid this interference

I hope you guys can help me decide
I'm deciding to buy Asus RT AC66U because of the features and the speed but the reliability of this brand keeps me thinking. .

my Linksys WRT54G router is still running smoothly for 6 years and counting
  • Im using asus ac66u. Ganyan din problema ko dati if cisco or asus buy ko. But after buying their ea2700 and experiencing bad signal quality i sold it and bought the asus. I know ea6500 is in a different league pero nasa lowest products mo mag rereflect ang quality ng high end products mo. . Since i used asus ac66u wala n kong signal lost. Sobrang lakas ng signal. I can guarantee you the performance of asus ac66u. Heavy user ako and what i mean by that is 24/7 nk on ang router ko.
it's so nice to hear na okay siya pang 24/7
  • I've had the opportunity to handle both the N66U and AC66U and both are awesome routers. gate pa lang ng bahay namin kumoconnect na agad tablet and smartphone ko sa home network namin. And from the old low end buffalo that I used to have, I have never known a signal loss with these two bad boys. regarding sa 5Ghz connectivity, depends rin ata sa device mo kung kaya nya maka receive sa 5Ghz band? both my mobile devices can see the 5Ghz SSID but my notebook can't seem to pick it up.
  • @benedict1216

just a note though, make sure that your wireless LAN card inside your computer can handle 5ghz and select 5ghz sa device properties ng wireless adaptor mo at sa router mo.. useless din kasi kung 2.4ghz/5ghz na router ka but your wireless router cant handle it.

if I am not mistaken, 300mbps and up wireless LAN cards supports 2.4GHz and 5GHz
  • possible kaya na palitan yung internal wireless adapter nito?
since I don't have AC capable device. .

    I think I'll go with N66U

    replace my wireless mouse
replace my wireless phone with DECT
  • san nyo po nabili ung asus rt-ac66u?? pumunta na kac ako sa megamall at greenhills wala ako mahanap.. may bago na ata ng linksys ea6700.

  • search nalang sa google yung mga \"terrible issues\" ng mga nakabili ng Linksys EA6500 and its whole lineup.

matino tino pa yung Chinese/Taiwaneze brands such as TP-link/Tenda/Senao/Engenius

. i suggest mag N66U ka. . nakaka gago nga eh. . nauuna yung router bago yung device na compatible. . at siyempre mas madali magpalit ng router kesa ng device. . 5-10 years pa bago magamit ulit yang AC na yan. . saka draft palang yan parang yung draft N dati lol. .
  • Sir gaano ba kalakas ang signal ng Rt-ac66u??? kaya nya mag penetrate though thick walls without minimizing signal bars?? sa house kc namin may dead spot na nagging 3 out of 5 bars kapag nandun ka..minsan nga 2 bars lang... so my question is how powerful is the signal? Thanks po mga sir.... :)

I think you can adjust the RxTx power sa Asus Admin page mismo ng router mo.
  • currently using Asus AC66U, performance is better than cisco. signals are stronger and mine never disconnects any devices. running 24/7 with 2.4 and 5ghz. basta iupdate mo lang yung firmware.

Its Cisco/Linksys counterparts are: WAG54G, WAG120, WAG160, WAG200, X2000, X3000, and the likes.
  • Can someone help me setup my ac66u router? Currently on pldt baudtec modem/router.
  • ano email mo, dun nalang kita i mmessage
