Hey guys! I\'m new here at TipidPC.
May bagong Neo Elan na.
An i7 Ivy bridge model which costs roughly around 32,000php for a bare model without an OS. It’s pretty insane for the price. I hope someone could do a review on it and discuss it here for us who plan on getting it. I plan on buying one next week. Ang sabi ng agent sa gamo sa July pa daw nila officially irerelease sa retail outlets nila. That may be the reason why they haven\'t gone all out in promoting it. Nagcheck din kasi ako sa ibang lugar. Pero meron na namang nabibilhan nito. If you DO know where to look. *ahem*
I did some research. The i7-3610QM used in this beast is the same processor used by Apple’s retina display macbooks which cost around 108,000php. The performance on the procie outperforms even Intel’s i5-2500K, my favorite desktop procie. It also uses less power on the average (still depends on the usage though). Plus it has a full sized keyboard and USB3s which is a great addition if you want a future-proof laptop.
Heto specs as posted dun sa tinanong ko sa FB account nila..
“Please refer below for the specs of our LD2JL:
CPU: Intel Core i7-3610QM
HDD: 750GB
RAM: 4GB
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M (2GB dedicated)
Resolution: 1366 x 768
USB 3.0 x 2
Numpad included on keyboard
*No option for SSD add-on yet.”

I\'m actually surprised that they reply pretty quickly.
And here\'s the only image I\'ve seen of the unit.
I\'m really hoping for some more info on this. Keeping an open mind, I wonder how would this fare with the more renowned competition (e.g., Asus, Acer, HP, Lenovo, etc.)
Give your take and let\'s discuss it here.
P.S.
An agent I\'ve recently talked to about this unit told me that the new casing for this model would be a stronger one with a non-gloss surface (also not much of fingerprint magnet as before). If I\'m not mistaken, I believe it looks similar to the Edge series chassis. It looks like brushed metal from afar I think.

Wow. It\'s a pretty decent looking chassis. I hope its as sturdy as it looks. I still plan on getting the bare DOS version though. As usual, great specs for the price.
Man, I really hope a lot of people would take notice of Neo. It\'s actually nice to see a Filipino brand giving a good enough competition to represent our presence in the tech industry. Support pinoy products parin talaga, atleast sure sa pyesa saka sa technical support.
BTW, Did anybody notice the THX sticker in the photo of the unit? I hope they\'ve improved the speakers as well. This is good news for interested buyers. Wow. Neo is going all out on this. I also noticed an HDMI port which is great for those who plan on using their TVs or another monitor. It would\'ve been great if they also added in a full HD display but I guess its too much considering the price and the effect on battery.

@Timot,
Oo nga. May potential pa naman mga products nila. Angpraktikal and tailored for our local market.
@initial_dy,
From what I know maglalabas narin sila sa mga showroom nila pero sometime in July. Though I doubt that it would be at a lower price. If you think that the added premium on the item is worth the travel and expenses of going to gilmore or transacting with tipidpc, then why not.

The gaming performance of the GeForce GT 640M equipped with DDR3 graphics memory lies somewhere in the former 2011 high-end category between the older GeForce GT 555M and GeForce GTX 460M.
The power consumption of the GeForce GT 640M is a bit below that of the older GeForce GT 540M and more in line with the GT 525M.
DA-YUM @_@
the GPU is even better than the GT555m that my GE620dx has @_@

Sa notebook check pang-71st na pinakamalakas na mobile gpu ang Nvidia GT640.
<click here for link>
As compared with...
GT555 - #91
GT550 - #107
GT540 - #130
but is behind (but not far off)..
GTX560 - #54
GT650 - #53 (believe it or not, the GT650 is faster than the older GTX560)
To give an idea of the performance, here\'s a video I found of an Acer Aspire V3 with the same specs (i7 3610, 4gb ram, GT640 2gb) running GTAIV. I\'d say the laptop did very well considering the physics and memory needed to run this game
<click here for link>
IMO, okay na sya for decent gaming. It can\'t run every hardcore game in ultra but it\'s far better than any older configuration of Sandy Bridge CPUs and gt555Ms and gt540Ms with regards to non-enthusiast laptops. Personally, I also do a lot of media editing and music recording so the advantage of the i7 ivy bridge is a big up for me.
Hope it helps.
Oh and BTW, here are the images of the unit.
It has both optimus and THX.
HDMI port and USB3s

ang specs sa laptop na ito is sure na maganda.. agree na tayo lahat dun.. bang for the buck talaga.. :)
keep posting guys. :)

I agree. Yun na lang talaga ang tanong. Overall build quality na lang talaga ang medyo malabo pa sa ngayon. I\'m also a bit curious regarding the THX speakers. Hardware improvement kaya yun? I hope it sounds as nice as it is in paper.
I also want to hear about the screen kung pantay rin ba yung brightness or mableed saka kung accurate ba yung color.

Thank God for delays. Sager NP6110 na sana yung pinag-iipunan ko - overall cost of the unit is supposed to be around 55k kasama shipping ($1100 yung mismong unit) customized to:
- CPU: Intel Core i7-3610QM
- HDD: Crucial M4 128GB SSD
- RAM: 8GB DDR3-1600
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M (2GB DDR3)
- Resolution: 1366 x 768
- Screen Size: 11.6\"
- Weight: ~4 lbs.
For years now, I\'ve been wanting to support Neo pero walang competitive product. First time ko pumili, it was between the MSI GX620 and that Neo Elan na halos katapat din ng MSI unit na yun. Price-wise, natalo yung Neo after a few months of saving money.
Now, it seems no deal can beat this LD2JL. 55k (or kahit pa 45k without shipping charges) VS 36k is incomparable lalo na pag halos same specs ang pinag-uusapan. RAM sana upgradable (1 stick VS 2 sticks or something). SSD mukha namang madaling solusyon pag meron na (I really want a Crucial M4 128 GB SSD).

very mobile yan ah 11.6\" lng ang screen size at magaan.. pro ang liit p rin ng screen.. di ako satisfy sa genun.. if given na matibay talaga ung LD2jL? sa neo ako.. HDD at RAM pwede palitan at dagdagan.. GPU? di nmn siguro genun kalayo ung difference ng dalawa.. pero for now? dun tayo sa sager hahahaha..

definitely NOT a hardware improvement. parang sa MSI lang yan, software plugin/add-on ang yung THX suround sound tweaks. if i were you, id install the Creative X-Fi mod that we have here in TPC
