Hard Disk Problem Thread

  • Good day mga sirs,

Salamat =)

probably a misunderstanding. mas maganda ilagay ang OS and swapfile sa fast hard drive para nga mas mabilis ang read/write ng data and fast hard drives like velociraptors and SSD\'s are smaller
  • ganito puba
    ssd

    wd raptor

    Not true in general.

You want to install the boot system OS on your fastest hard drive, since boot and system OS files are accessed very often. Placing them on the fastest hard drive can improve performance a bit.

In most cases, larger hard drives are faster than smaller hard drives.
But then, newer hard drives tend to be faster than older hard drives.
(so it\'s possible an \"older\" 500Gb hard drive may be slower than a \"newer\" 320Gb hard drive. Pero if same new 1Tb versus new 500Gb, most likely mas mabilis yung 1Tb. It can also depend on the models, kasi there are hard drive models that are for \"faster\" performance, etc.)

Baka po yung tinutukoy na \"small-capacity\" memory are yung SSDs, which are a different form of storage device. These are ultra-fast storage devices, ideal for placing often-accessed files like the system OS. Unfortunately, may kamahalan pa sila (kaya sizes can be only 32Gb or 64Gb. Kasi kung kasing laki ng 256Gb SSD, yung price nito is almost a whole computer system or even more, SSD pa lang yun).

Also, in most cases, small-capacity hard drives are already older hard drives -- you don\'t want to use old hard drives, baka malapit na yun bumigay.
  • @TS
Medyo off-topic, but memory and hard-drive capacity are two different things.

Giving the benefit of the doubt. Some people who are not that tech-savvy may confuse RAM memory with Hard Disk memory. From how I understand, yung ibig sabihin niya na \"hard disk with little memory\", he\'s probably referring to \"hard disk with smaller capacity\"... pero let\'s see what the TS has to say, para maliwanagan tayo.
  • I think yung sinasabi na memory ni TS is yung Cache ng HDD.
  • @DTA: Sir tama po kayo ang ibig ko pong sabihin e..hard disk with smaller capacity..hehe...sinubukan ko po ngayon tong luma kong 40gig(luma talaga promise) na HD for OS..at mabagal nga siya...hehe

@lito202: parang yan po ata yung nabanggit sa akin..thank you for the pics..=)

................and still yung iba di type yung isang model ng brand na yun.... ang gusto ibang part number..... get mo?

btw, one year mo palang pnagamit yung caviar black? 5 year warranty yan ah...... brand new mo ba nabili at may distro sticker siya?

usually ang western digital AGT ang may may hawak niyan..... pede mo pa RMA yun.... punta ka sa western digital website at tignan mo dun kung valid pa ba yung warranty ng hard drive mo..... type mo yung serial number ata nung hard drive then malalaman mo kung in warranty pa or hindi na.....

mas maganda give him lessons. correct him
  • Good day sir redwing,

  • good day sir/mam.

  • May nabili akong 2nd hand na laptop Acer i3 travelmate... sabi ng 1st owner nag overheat yung hard drive dahil naiwan sa kama at na harang yung vent kaya uminit. Yung visible effect nya is umumbok yung harddisk cover. Sabi nya walang problem pero if incase magka problem is may warranty na 1month.
Windows 7 OS nya at office 2010.. ayaw din mag work yung movie make at naghahanap ng driver?
hard disk ba cause nito or may ibang reason.

  • its either compatibility issue or baka kasi yung may parallel connection with other devices = compatibility issue nga
  • sa akin naman WD blue SATA for desktop bigla na lang nag hang tapos ayaw na magboot. checked the bios options hindi na detected ang HD. tried swapping connections with my data HD (no bootloader kasi data lang ang laman) pero di pa rin detected. meron syang bzzt sound every three seconds but other than that there are no signs that it is working. may pagasa pa kaya marecover ang mga files ko doon? thanks.
  • Buhay pa ba to?

    Question sana mga bossing.
