Acer Aspire 4750G Laptop Intel Core i3-2310/i5-2410 / nVidia GT 540M

  • mag 8 months na itong 4750g ko, and no problems encountered. need ko lang upgrade ram dahil ramdam ko sa multi tasking pero so far wala problem.
  • @rogerguanlao
As long as SODIMM DDR3 sir, ok sa lappies natin yan sir.

  • Hi Im new to this website,

I came across this trying to look for solution for my laptop.
like other dudes here I also have an aspire 4750g but the lower quality one, the one with the i3 2310m processor.

I looked around this topic and unfortunately I still couldn't find anything that could help my with my lappie's performance when playing games. Im talking about the sudden drop of fps where at first the game runs smoothly then after a minute or 2, it slows down.

But I discovered a solution about this problem at youtube. I'm not gonna post the url here but here's what I did as what the instruction in the video said.

    Go to

    Control Panel >Power Options
Choose Balance(recommended) >Change Plan Settings >Change Advance Power Settings

On the new dialogue box, go to the lowest most of the choices, find and expand "Processor Power Management" > Maximum processor state

Set Both On Battery & Plugged in to 80% > Apply

and you're done. Now try playing with your games and see if the fps still falls down drastically.

This solution worked for me perfectly.
Hope it does too to everyone else experiencing what I experienced.

80%? Wow, ilan nalang GHz mo nun? Di pwede sakin yan since need ng PCSX2 ng max proc possible.

Sobrang liit ba ng N17? Mga ilang inch yung kulang? pag ganun baka N1 nalang bilin ko, 700 yung N1 while N17 is 400 sa Across.
  • @TheFlipfloper

lower quality? my i3 is not lower quality i can run games on high without fps drop >:(

also setting the power to 80% while you have an i3 definitely lowers your processing power, mine is set at minimum 100% and max at 100% so its always 100% during playing, gpu and cpu stays below 70c, no stuttering whatsoever

you could be overheating, check your temps via overlay(msi overburner) ingame, lowering your processor speed is not a solution
  • @nasher

i also have the i3 variant. naka set ata akin around 70% so bale mga 1.6ghz. then my battery will go up 5 hours lol. true story to. with power saver mode rin. ideal if nagdodownload ka lang ngtorrent tapos iiwan mo na nakaon yung laptop without charging (baka kasi maovercharge or worst ma short circuit)

    2.1ghz x .70 (move 2 decimal point kasi 70% nga) = 1.47ghz lol ganun ba to?
  • @mrcrfrz
    Yes sir. Tama yan.

Though, magpapalit na ako to Arctic MX-4 soon because of its non-conductive property.
  • It's the only solution that worked for me after lots of googling trying to find a way to fix my 4750g problem. Just sharin.
  • the best solution is to find whats causing the fps drop
    could be driver problem
    drive failure
    specific game problem(patches)
    antivirus/firewall/background apps/skins/gui

lowering your cpu power is a bad solution

    just saying ...
  • on my son's 4750g, the cpu reaches 95-100 deg c on full load (i5) so it throttles down causing stuttering... sometimes it auto shuts down, even when using throttle stop. the gpu however runs at a relatively cool 70-75 deg c.

we got a very nice deepcool n8 laptop cooler but still not much improvement.

unfortunately its very hard to access the cpu chip to change thermal paste to better stuff, unlike our other laptop, an msi cx420 where one of the service bays can easily access the heatsink/heatpipe/fan cooling assembly.

w/ the 4750g u have to really open up the lower half of the case to expose the motherboard where the cooler is located and i'm not confident enough to do it.
  • ^yikes! 100%!? baka matunaw yung parts ng laptop lol. eto din una kong tinignan when buying laptops. yung airflow at chassis. and kaya di rin ideal sa laptop ang overclocking.
  • @dino
I did experience near 100c on my cpu, it would not only stutter but would shut down immediately, i think the the cpu was around 95c and gpu 85c then shutoff, this happened if i play games only, my laptop is on warranty so i bought a can of compressed air from cdrking king and blew right through the vents, it went back to normal, dust and hairs probably slowed the fan thats why it overheated, try compressed air if your are not technically savvy to open up the laptop
  • @reiluke

Following your suggestion, i used a hi power blower to clean the vents and i couldn't believe how much crap i cleared lol!

Temps during full load gaming dropped back down to 78 deg for cpu and 65 deg cfor gpu. This is w/ turbo boost on.

Pinagalitan ko nga anak ko coz i often see him using the laptop nka patong lang sa bed or floor. So much debris got sucked in and it impeded airflow and cooling efficiency.

Far cry from the temps that were causing stuterring as he can game comfortably again (parang bagong bili). I'll just blower this thing regularly hehe!
  • @dino

ASTIG! Haha. Makabili rin pala! Ang hirap kasing linisin nung fan at vents.

  • @gojehlo
If it's still under warranty, dalhin mo sa repair center ng Acer.
On the other hand, kapag hindi na, buksan mo na. Check the HDD then i-re-seat (tanggal-lagay)mo.
  • under warranty pa nga po kaya diko ma buksan buksan.

    salamat ulit.
  • ^ at least 1k.

  • guys 4750 user here, question lang. got one fews days ago and bought a slightly used unit. for the price of 21,000 here's what i got from the seller. i thoroughly checked and ran the unit for several hours and minutes prior to paying to see if there are any catch :)

    intel core i5 2410 2.3ghz
    nvidia optimus gt520mx
    8gb ddr3 dual channel
    500gb hdd 7200rpm

the package includes, unit, charger, manuals, sleeve, receipt from dubai and manual, cd driver. the seller is not a filipino. gagamitin daw pang asikaso ng papers ang pera. urgently needed yung cash. sulit nga ba nakuha ko? hindi ko naman kelangan ng sobrang taas na graphics, pang photoshop lang and some software for video conversion and editing. intact din yung lahat ng seal and stickers sa ilalim, hindi pa nabubuksan.

@ poohtik - sulit na yan hehe!!!
  • @cyd:
