Sana nga nasa 15k din gaya ng HS10 kasi yung HS10 nasa $500 lumabas pero under 16k dito, ganun din ang HS20EXR, nasa $500 so sana under 16k lang din ^_^

Panasonic LX5, FZ40 and Canon SX30is
need advice on the following questions.
1. For Bokeh shots which is the best among my choices?
2. For zoom quality shots, fz40 or sx30is?
3. For night/low light photography which the best?

for question no. 1: LX5 because of its F/2.0 aperture, IQ, and handy
for question no. 2: sx30is
for question no. 3: almost all of the 3 are good in low light =)

for number 1 siguro maliit lang difference. pretty much a moot point.
for number 2 SX30 IS
for number 3 the LX5 gets an advantage, with a slightly larger sensor and faster lens. May hotshoe din siya at saka yung SX30 IS so pwede mo lagyan ng external flash.
you can add the Olympus XZ-1 which sports a f/1.8-2.5 28-112mm lens (may hotshoe din) or the Canon S95 to your list.

@logbi77 - so among the three SX30is is in the middle when it comes to performance? so do you think im safe to buy SX30is?

These cameras are really close, depends on your needs naman. Either of those 3 are good pero mukhang gusto mo ng malayong zoom, so I think settle for the SX30IS instead, dagdag ka nalang ng external flash for low-light shots. May accessory na pwede ikabit sa LX5 para madagdagan zoom pero pangit quality nun.
Personally if I were to choose I\'d prefer to get an LX5 or the Olympus XZ-1, pero hindi naman kasi ako mahilig magshoot ng malalayong subjects kagaya ng mga ibon kaya yun ang choice hehe. Tignan mo muna kung kailangan mo yun zoom range na yun hehe pero ok na yan kahit alin sa 3 for starters.

Yes, All DSLRs with APS-C sensors are digital cameras with APS-C size hehe. Biro lang. I assume compact digital camera ang tinatanong mo.
Sony DSC-R1 (hindi talaga compact, since fixed zoom lens siya 24-120mm f/2.8-4.8), Leica X1, Fujifilm X100, Ricoh GXR (pwedeng APS-C, pwedeng compact sensor size depende sa module), Sigma DP1, Sigma DP1x, Sigma DP2. Yung mga Sigma Foveon sensor yun. Slightly smaller (1.7x crop) than APS-C but slightly larger than FT.

kung hindi kaya ng camera zoom, use foot zoom. haha. pwede mo i-DIY ung telescope at camera.
by the way, all of the 3 (lx5,sx30is,fz40) are good in bokeh shot. it depends na lang sa area, settings and angle. :)
why dont you try fuji HS10 or wait for HS20EXR?

@logbi77 - bro yung flash ba nung sx30is eh panalo na for low or night shots? may i know the brand and model kung pwde mgmention d2?
@matt_0204 - hmm naki2ta ko ngang major comparison yang HS10 sa fz40 and sx30is. is it really bang for the buck? =)
@Yohan831 - hehe uu mga po eh. para kcng i dont see myself na mahook up sa photography kya isa2gad ko na sa PnS camera ung aiming performance. DLSR ala ako budget to constantly buy lens. hehe pero pre among my choices kaya na bang masurpass yan ng Canon EOS 1000D? If il consider to buy a DSLR?

P&S suffers from the small sensor it has, thus a huge DoF. You can only achieve a good bokeh if the subject is near or you\'re shooting in macro mode. Even if the lens has a maximum aperture of f/2.0, the sensor will still bottleneck it.
So just a heads up, don\'t expect bokeh like this :

24mm
on a P&S.
M4/3 or NEX systems on the other hand..

hello mga sir, im just a newbie so pardon me if my question wouldn\'t make sense
anyway we are planning to buy a camera.. gagamitin kasi ng mom ko trip to dubai this november.. while okay na sya sa PnS, sabi ko sa kanya na compact dslr na lang.. kasi gusto ko rin gumamit eh coz i have a hobby (toy collecting) and hilig ko din mag picture kahit paano..
anyway gusto ko lang malaman kung ano ang mga maganda at affordable na compact dslr.. right now panasonic lumix gf3 yung napupusuan namin.. meron pa ba maganda pa dito? tnx

ask ko lang po anu dapat po check sa isang 2nd hand dslr po? planning to buy one po pero 2nd hand lang po for may bussiness na sound system rental ko just for taking picture ng mga event ko po.
as of now ang gamit ko eh point and shoot sony cybershot 7.2mp
any good advice po?

1. Make sure it works
2. Tanong mo kung may service history na at kung ano yun
3. Para maging madali sayo, chose either Canon or Nikon (Pentax personal na gamit ko)
4. Kung second han, sana at least Nikon D90 or Canon 50D kukunin mo
5. Tanong mo shutter count. 50k would be too high na para sa consumer DSLR

looking for a PnS camera as a gift for my wife, hoping to spark some photography interest in her. criterias are as follows
1. Budget: 5 -> 7.5k
2. Purpose: Mostly portraits
3. Preferences: handy, color pink, at least 15MP up, captures 720p images
I've had 2 choices, Sony CyberShot WSC-800 and Canon IXUS 160 pero I've read bad reviews (WSC800 takes 3-4 seconds to process after capturing, IXUS 160 fails to capture near) so now I'm back to square one. I'm leaning on the IXUS 160 tbh but I'd like to take second opinions in case there are further good PnS out there.
EDIT: I didn't notice I was necroing this topic. Since active naman PnS, buhayin na rin natin para sa mga interested parties.
