Intel® Core™ i3 / Core™ i5 / Core™ i7 Thread (Ivy Bridge/Sandy Bridge - Z77/Z75/H77/Z68/H67 - LGA 1155)

  • @riggers09: i have i5-2500K but i am running at stock clocks now. anyways, go to page 1 for OC guides. i5-2500K is very easy to OC. the highest i tried was 4.8GHz using CM Hyper 212 way back in 2010. it could still go higher but i did not push it anymore.

    here was my settings before:

    Board: Asrock Z68 Pro3-M
    Offset Voltage: +0.105 V
    Base Clock: 100.1 MHz
    CPU Ratio: 48

    these results in:

    Min Core Voltage: 0.88 V
    Max Core Voltage: 1.38 V
    Max Core Temp: 68-75 C
    Max Package Temp: 77 C

    Ambient Temp: 30 C
    Prime95 Test: 8.5 hours

it is up to you how long you want to run Prime95 test. what matters is that it is stable during gaming.
  • ^pag CPU intensive ang game, you will feel it. best way is to try it yourself.
  • @riggers09 2600k user ako. 2 years on stock clock, tapos inoverclock ko na to 4-4.5Ghz overtime at naalaman ko ung overclock limit ng board at proc ko. Di ko kayang i-hit ang 4.6Ghz.

    Sana makatulong ito.

4.5Ghz all cores enabled, I'm using offset vcore, LLC lvl 3, EIST enabled, C states are disabled, HTT enabled (ASRock Board). ayon sa hardware monitor ko, ang max vcore ko ay 1.20v
I'm using a h80i cooling unit n Performance profile sa C-link, I have no AC.
Temps peak ayon sa Open Hardware Monitor.

    Day temps:
low to average cpu usage, mostly playing NBA 2K15 64bit which is matakaw sa allcore

    29c-32c ambient 56c-64c peak

Autocad Rendering, Max hardware usage preference
    64c-70c

    Night temps:
    NBA 2K15

    28c-25c ambient
    54c-60c peak

Autocad Rendering, Max hardware usage preference
    60c-64c

I used both P95 and IBT for stability test.

Don't forget to check your CPU idle stability.
    Codemasters
    NBA 2k series
  • Ask ko lang kapag napa rma mo na yung processor mo at sinendan ka ng replacement then if ever nasira ulit at pasok pa sa warranty pwede pa ba ipa rma yun? Thanks!
  • ^i think so. ang question na lang is mare-reset ba yung warranty ulit.

di ko pa nasiraan ng processor. pero yung SSD ko dati na may bug, pina-RMA ko. ang orig warranty nya is 3 years. ng pinalitan nila yung SSD, reset ulit to 3 years yung warranty ng bagong SSD.
  • Ask ko lang kapag napa rma mo na yung processor mo at sinendan ka ng replacement then if ever nasira ulit at pasok pa sa warranty pwede pa ba ipa rma yun? Thanks!

Pwede.
  • Ahh. Thanks!

  • i tried oc mine.
    at 4.6ghz i used offset voltage +.095volts
itried using ibt 10 test. and play watch dogs. di naman nagkaron ng crash or bsod. umabot ako ng 70c max and 60-50 while playing watch dogs, ok ba yung gantong oc?

im using cooler master hyper 212x, para sakin bang for the buck siya.
  • ^as long as it's stable, then okay ang OC mo. up to you kung hanggang saan temp ka comfortable. yung iba gusto hanggang 70C max lang. ako naman, okay lang until 80C max.
  • Nagmahal pala ang 3770k ngayon. Almost 3k LNG difference my 5820k 6 cores ka na, but that would mean I need to change my mobo and ram as well. Considering the money I have to spend buying all those, is the extra 2 cores worth it or I should stick with the 3770k. Nasunog kasi yung 3770k ko
  • ^stick with 3770K. same tier lang naman sila ng 5820K.

    <click here for link>
  • sir bat nasunog yung 3770k mo?
A yaw na gumana after nun kahit ilipat sa ibang mobo

  • Kung walang budget, stick with i7 3770k.
  • Thanks for the input. I guess I'll have to stick with 3770k then. Kelangan na maging practical ngayon and I'm thinking baka Hindi rin ganun kalayo ang performance between the 3770k and 5820k when rendering

Yes, for practicality's sake, buy another 3770k. Sana lang walang ibang nadamay na parts.

Tanong lang, ano bang PSU gamit mo?
  • I have an antec 650 watts. Its busted too and I'm going to replace that as well. Buti na lang Hindi nadamay yung gtx780 ko. I don't use an avr and the technician suspected power surge as the culprit
  • Definitely power surge. Pero if you really want to protect everything, bili ka talaga ng heavy duty AVR. I assume source ng income mo yung rendering?
  • And your lesson was a hard one. Charge to experience na lang ahehe.

    Bale 3 kelangan mo:

    Good PSU
    Heavy duty AVR (kung kaya)
    i7 3770k
  • Sir OT but since na mention narin naman.... AVR rating should be higher than system draw? i would think yes but confirmation lang. hehe TIA
  • ^yes, dapat may allowance.
  • @MrThomas

  • @Freikxx
3770k na LNG uli ang binili ko kahapon. May chance pa daw masave yung nasunog na procie by reheating it as what the technician suggested
  • @MrThomas

    Magkano bili mo?
  • 16.8k. Bilang lang ang computer stores dito same amin kaya no choice ako
  • I assume brand new naman yan db?
