Intel® Core™ i3 / Core™ i5 / Core™ i7 Thread (Ivy Bridge/Sandy Bridge - Z77/Z75/H77/Z68/H67 - LGA 1155)

  • @techmigs25

I think mataas ang temps mo for Corsair H100i watercooling. Although nasa safe zone pa naman yung processor mo at 69C.

Ang idle temps ng CPU ko now is 44C ~ 45C. Nag run ako ng Prime95 Blend kanina for 5-10 minutes and nasa 61C ~ 63C lang ang max temps with aircooling.

BTW I'm using Core i5-3570K also...

  • @techmigs25

Yup and mataas ang ambient temps ngayon dahil 2pm in the afternoon. One of the hottest times of the day :-)
  • mga sir, tanong ko lang kung anong mas ok sa dalawa. i5 2500 or i3 4170? yan lang kasi kaya ng budget. pang mid gaming and photoshop.

para sakin go for i5 2500..atleast quadcore at di pa naman gaano out dated..

For photoshop and gaming mas ok ang Core i5-2500. Kung makahanap ka ng Intel Z77 motherboard in good condition, maganda siya i-pair sa Core i5-2500. Pwede mo kasi i-overclock ang Core i5-2500 to 4GHz ~ 4.1GHz for better performance (via Turbo overclocking).

Take note lang na if you choose Core i5-2500 most likely second-hand processor and motherboard ang gagamitin mo. So walang warranty in case may defect o problema. Also kapag nasira ang motherboard mo mahirap maghanap ng replacement.

Siguro weigh mo nalang ang benefits ~ risks with buying a second-hand CPU + motherboard (but better performance) versus brand new CPU + motherboard (but less performance).

Kung ako pipili I will go with Core i3-4170 and brand new motherboard para may warranty. Upgrade nalang in the future to Core i5-4590 ~ Core i7-4790 kapag may extra budget ulit.
  • Guys question lang, I'm new to tweaking frequencies ng CPUs & RAMs. I have an i3-4170 CPU and Gigabyte z97-D3H MOBO. I read that i3-4170 can only support up to 1600mhz of RAM. But I adjusted my RAM frequency from 1600mhz to 2000mhz, and when I check with Speccy, my RAM is running at 2000mhz. Question is, is it really running on 2000mhz? or 1600mhz padin since my CPU only supports up to 1600mhz lang? And if it's really running on 2000mhz, may magiging problema ba sa stability ng PC ko? Thanks!

Chances are it's running at 2000MHz kasi supported ng Gigabyte GA-Z97-D3H ang overclocked memory speeds (anything above DDR3-1600). So although yung processor does not support DDR3-2000 yung motherboard allows it. A simple way to check is open CPU-Z and check the memory tab and look at DRAM frequency :-)

Before checking for stability, kamusta naman ang performance? May nakikita kang improvement sa speed in games, benchmarks etc?

Anyway, just an update. I installed DRIVER BOOSTER, to check for outdated drivers then Updated total of 8 outdated drivers. Then after reboot, nag stuck nalang sa WELCOME SCREEN. I reset the PC, ganun padin, stuck langsa WELCOME screen.. wtf?

Welcome screen ng motherboard BIOS? or welcome screen ng Windows?

When installing drivers always download the drivers from the hardware vendor itself, like Gigabyte, Nvidia, AMD etc. Avoid using third party drivers or tools that install the drivers automatically. Hindi tayo sure kung tested yan or ni-re-replace ang drivers with generic versions from the Windows update site.

Try mo mag boot in safe-mode and see kung makakapasok ka pa sa Windows. You might have to uninstall and re-install every driver na ginalaw ni DRIVER BOOSTER. Worst case reformat and reinstall Windows para safe :-|
