  Did a little research. Last June 11, 2010, NTC selected the Japanese standard for digital TV.

  There are 3 versions of this standard; the orginal ISDB-T from Japan, its mofified Brazilian version called ISDB-Tb, and the combined specs called ISDB-T International.
  
  The news item wasn\'t very comprehensive. It\'s probably the last that we will use. The only notable difference is the use of MPEG4/H.264 for video and audio encoding, instead of MPEG 2 in the original Japanase version.

  setup ko 17 inch na crt monitor + tvBox,tapos ang audio connected sa ampli, pag may nakakapanood na ibang tao nagugulat e,napakalinaw daw.
  
  so kung HD na ang local tv station tapos crt tv ang gamit mo e ala ring kwenta.

  In the US you have to pay a lot of money for cable. (comcast charges like $120 per month for cable and internet only after promos expire) and ayan lang yung pinaka basic package.

  Skycable meron na yan last year.. pero yung digital broadcast to HD sa 2015 pa yan ang sabi ng ABS-CBN and GMA kasi mag shutdown lahat ng analog signal sa buong pinas pag dating ng 2015 all TV networks to upgrade their facilities to Digital HD format bago mag 2015.

  So kailangan by 2015 karamihan ng mga pinoy dapat may HD-capable TVs na. But who really cares, I rarely watch local tv nowadays...
