  • Share ko lang itong nagawa ko:

I bought a 2nd hand Powercolor 5770 last December 20, 2014. This card is to be use on my torrent/internet/hd movies/video conversion rig (not the gaming rig). Replacing the Palit 650ti Boost OC 2gb 192bit (kepler)

Status of the card on the day I bought:

Powercolor HD 5770 1gb 128bit Stock clocks reference cooler

Filthy on the inside, slightly outside
Case is untouched, but some broken screw holes

When the time (2AM Deliver sa house) i bought the item, upon testing sa Video Card Stability Test (recommended by nVidia itself), and tested on Futuremark, the card is good, no defects. So I decided to dismantle the card to clean it inside and outside.

(dusts already removed by a paint brush)

What did I do: (I download the newest AMD gpu drivers [prime Omega] before cleaning)

+ Soaked the parts in cold water
+ Sprayed each parts including the gpu board, a WD40 and brushed it using an old toothbrush
+ Soaked again in cold water
+ Brushed all parts including the gpu board, a toothpaste
+ Soaked in water with few joy dish washing soap
+ Rinse thoroughly in cold water using bidet
    + Removed excess water
+ Blow any water using a Hair Blower (hot air)
+ Let it dry and rest for a few hours
+ Then let it blow again with Hair Blower (to make sure no excess water on it)
+ Rest for a few minutes to cool it down
    + Assembling the card

(I tried to remove the Powercolor sticker but I failed)

(as you can see, the card\'s back board panel is very detailed on it\'s stock markings, compared when unwashed)

    The finished product:

(burn tested on Futuremark with no defects)

    On the next day...

I tried to OC the card\'s from it\'s stock settings using MSI Afterburner:

    GPU: 860, 870, 900mhz
    VRAM: 1200, 1225mhz

ALL settings are stable using Video Card Stability Test & Futuremark

Then I tried to change it\'s firmware came from Techpowerup website

    (Powercolor 5770 Vortex bios)

Stress Tested on Videocard Stability Test (nVidia recommends) & Futuremark for several hours with highest temp of 61 deg Celcius only on 50% fan speed!

After flashing... Voila! Up to now it is stable, even on video editing and slight gaming :)

    Thanks for reading!
