sakin gamit ko rin cheap AVR nun 2002 ko pa sya gamit. main purpose ng avr eh regulate ang voltage ng 220v kapag tumaas ang voltages ng kuryente. saka protection na rin to from overload ng kuryente. kapag lagpas na 5A ang current na na coconsumes nya blown fuse na agad para di na apektuhan ang pag kasira ng ibang devices na nakasaksak sa avr. yun 110v naman nagagamit ko dati sa VCR player ko. hehehe.

pag may generic avr ka may extra fuse na sasalo dun sa potential power spikes heheh (lightning storms or whatever)
tska may pagsasaksakan kang extra slot para sa electric fan

May Generic AVR ako na may tatlong 220 at isang 110.. tapos nung 2003 pa nabili haha.. safe pa kaiang gamitin toh? ginagamit kong saksakan ng router, ng internet at charger ng laptop.. tinging niu?

Sakin iba experience ko sa mga generic AVRs. Dati nagloko ung dvd drive at nagkakaroon din ako ng mga occasional hdd lockups dahil sa generic AVR. Nung pinatest ko ung system ko tapos normal naman sa kanila, ang sinisi nila yung AVR. Bumili na ako ng bagong AVR at PSU tapos wala na masyado problems system ko for 2 years. Nirecommend nila sakin na kumuha ako ng servo motor dahil mas effective daw un.
Ngayon gumagamit nalang ako ng surge protector dahil pinutok niya yung Hec Cougar CMX 700 ko once. Underpowered siguro. I\'m not recomnending servo motor AVRs if you can\'t wait for it to power up (usually takes around 3-5 mins) as this may be the reason why it lost its effectiveness. It\'s no longer pointing to 220v when my PSU blew out. Probably, baka defective lang talaga mga 2010-2011 batches ng Cougar dahil meron sila sariling thread tungkol sa mga ganito.
BTW, ang servo motor AVR ko ay Meiji 1500W AVR at binili ko sa ACE Hardware. Since nagkaroon ng incident ko sa procie ko lately, investigate ko narin ung PSU at siguro ireinstate ko ung AVR at kakabit na rin siya sa surge protector.

EDIT: Actually meron pala tayong STAC dito. The distro is in Quiapo.
Hinahanap ko website ng Matsunaga pero wala akong makita. I have a Matsunaga Stavol SVC-500N na nasira na last year. The servo no longer moves. 1989 pa ito dito sa bahay and was only used sa TV namin na hanggang ngayon buhay pa. Saglit ko lang siya nagamit sa PC ko.

Prede po ba ito na pangpalit sa generic AVR ko? wala kasi ako alam about sa mga gantong bagay e. may fuse nga pala sa likod.

Perhaps a plug with a fuse provides more protection than a cheap AVR that undercuts the required power of your computer or does a worse job in cleaning the current.
We are the only country who would recommend an AVR. In the US, they only recommend either a surge protector or a UPS. You never see in the discussion forums where someone is promoting the use of AVRs on computers.
