noob question pwde b palitan video card ng acer lappy at processor
G variants of acer aspire, such as 4520G have video cards in MXM modules that can be replaced. however, not all MXM video cards are compatible; they must be of the correct MXM type, plus the MXM video card BIOS should be compatible with acer, otherwise it will not work..

@ chomi
Yep, napaka dami pang misc files. Actually expected na un for the specs of our lappy. I was just looking for miracle not luck haha LOL. I use to visit sites like can you run it etc. pero ala ako int connect that time. Di kasi ako masyado mahilig sa mga first-person shooter rpg games like COD4. So now, Prince Of Persia (Warrior Within) muna ako & medyo decent ung fps 27-30.

^ overclocking is not advisable for laptops; undervolting is.

Basically, one of the objectives of undervolting is to lower/decrease the amount of heat our CPU emits.
While overclocking aims to increase the clock cycles (per second) to have a greater performance pero eventually it's too risky to try it on a laptop cause it will also increase your temp & di ganun ka efficient ang cooling system ng laptops compared sa desktops.
The other details will be discussed further by devblue, thank you haha lol.

nice pass, oli_brocolli, haha!
anyway, undervolting is technically the reverse of overclocking. the speed of your processor is determined by frequency multiplier x voltage. when you overclock, you increase the multiplier to increase the overall speed of your processor. you get higher speeds than what your processor is rated, but it increases the heat generated. improperly increased multipliers can cause an unstable system, with a fried processor as the ultimate overclocking failure.
undervolting involves decreasing the voltage supplied to the processor without altering the frequency multiplier. the objective is to decrease the heat generated by lowering the voltage but not sacrifice performance. improperly lowered voltage can cause instability, that's why it's advisable to stress test the processor when undervolting. undervolted unstable systems can cause bsod crashes, or file copy errors and other software failures.
relatively speaking, undervolting is safer than overclocking, since you can't damage your processor. the worst that can happen is that you get random bsod when the undervolting process is done improperly or the undervolted processor is not stress-tested properly.
i found an undervolting guide
<click here for link>, you might want to try it. chomi_24 also provided another guide geared for intel processors, but the one i found is a bit more generic. i already have the tools needed but haven't gotten around to doing it yet. from what i've read it's very time consuming to adjust voltages and stress-test every voltage change, so i'll probably try to do it over the weekend.

Lalo na if your going to Liquify mode, mabilis din ung loading ng various plugins.

Acer Gurus,
I just have my 4530 just last month. I reformatted the system. Ang prob ko is I can't use the AHCI mode anymore. I tried modifying the registry to enable my AHCI from the system32 (msahci.sys). Ung first boot ok pa but after the next boot I failed na & it's flashing a sudden BSOD (so fast that I can't read the message).

^ set BIOS option to use AHCI mode, not IDE compatibility mode. the right way to do it is install your OS, BIOS setting in IDE compatibility mode. after successful OS installation, install your SATA driver, reboot. on boot up, enter the BIOS and change to AHCI mode, otherwise you get BSOD.

Nope ganito po ung scenario. Naka IDE ako then I edited the value in registry to 0. Then restart. Then aun iniinstalled na ung Standard 1.0 na AHCI. Then reboot ako using AHCI mode. At first attempt nakapasok ako sa desktop sa second ayaw na. So balik IDE ako. Any effective solutions?
Or if wala na talaga, can anyone give me a link on how to do install using a floppy disk/F6? Need pa atang config ung floppy & di ata siya ung ilalagay mo lang ung AHCI drivers thanks for heeding my problem Acer Gurus.

Hmm.. Dude, I suspect that you are just using a regular Vista Ulitmate. Try to install Vista Ultimate having the Service Pack 1. Then try to edit again the registry. AFAIK, hinde applicable ung ganun sa Vista without the SP1 installed.

na discuss na yun dito. puma is the platform and lion is the code name of the processor.
@eabs
<click here for link>
@arevass
